A fairly good episode. But what was the Stephen King novel being read? And will we have to bone up on Romeo and Juliet, when it comes to Juliet and Jack? I think so.
According to Lostpedia, it’s ‘Carrie’ by Stephen King, but I have so far been unable to confirm that assessment.

I loved this episode. The glimpse at The Others during the first five minutes was enlightening to say the least.
I liked it, but more questions, of course, are raised. And will we ever get to the bottom of the Polar bears? The strange ‘monster’, for lack of better word, that once roamed the island? I mean, it’s odd that so many things have popped up, never to be seen again…
It looked to me like the book that Juliet was holding when she was talking to Ben outside was different to the one she was holding inside the house. The first one looked like a white hardback, and the one she was holding outside looked like one of the Dark Tower series (green paperback).
The Carrie reference would probably tie in better, as the book is about telekinesis and the Others seem to be conducting experiments into psychic powers.
The Dark Tower could work as it’s about a group heading towards their fate of a crucial showdown with evil forces [the Others?] to save the world [Valenzetti?].
What I find interesting is that the “Others” were absolutely taken by surprise by the crash and then in panic were sending out people. If the whole plane crash was indeed “not coincidental” (as stated by the writers in a podcast) but rather somehow a plan to get one or more people from that plane onto the island then the “Others” are definietly not involved in that plan since then they would have clearly known that the plane was about to crash - when and where - and would have been prepared.
